Berlin, Reisemobilhafen Berlin

N52 33' 12" E13 12'2"

A well equipped Stellplatz (hard standing, electricity, waste disposal, water, showers, toilets), located outside the LEZ so, no need for Pollution Stickers etc. Public transport into central Berlin. Effectively a Motorhome campsite, within the city. 18Euro/night.

Bernkastel-Kues

N49.93785, E7.04803

The Stellplatz is associated with a Winery, and, is located at the end of a long tarmac track on the banks of the River Moselle, overlooking vineyards. There are spaces for about 45 vans, (all with electric hook up). 13Euro/night. Surface is hard packed gravel. There is a cycle track into Bernkastle-Kues (about 2 miles along the river). Bernkastle-Kues is a very attractive town.

Brachwitz

At a marina. 7Euro/Night, electric extra (50c/kwh). Quiet. Not well signposted. A bit dis-organised (not usual for Germany)

Braubach

N50 16’ 11” E7 38’ 50”

This is a Stellplatz, German style, electric hook up, shower, toilets, etc, all beautifully kept, for 10 Euro/night, inclusive of EHU. On banks of Rhine, if you are lucky, you get a river view. All very well kept.

Dinkelsbuhl

The Stellplatz is a sort of stripped down campsite and, I think, belongs to a campsite, which is about 500 metres along the road. It is countryside on the edge of Dinkelsbuhl (about 1 mile, more or less flat, cycle track into town). It is securely fenced, with “street lights” and an automatic barrier to let you in. You have to pay 10Euro per day, that is inclusive of Electricity (6amp), Water, waste disposal. You pay at the campsite about 500 metres along the road. You cannot get out until you pay! There are marked out spaces for 14 vans. Dinkelbuhl town is beautiful. Dinkelsbuhl is on the Romantic Route.

Donauworth

N48°42'54", E10°46'45"

There is marked out parking for 8 vans, plus unmarked space for about 4 more, on the edge of a large car park, but only 8 electric hook points (1Euro per 8hours of Electric at about 6amps). There is a service point for fresh water, and a disposal point for Water and Chemical Toilet. Water is 1 Euro/100litres, the actual parking is free, and you can stay for upto 5 days (we think), so in short it is 3Euro per day, or free if you do not bother with electric hook-up.

Kaiserberg

N 48°08'10", E 7°15'43"

A very large Stellplatz. Full range of services, including Toilets, but, no EHU. In 2012, it was 7Euro per 24hours, with free water, and service point, but I understand it has increased significantly (20Euro, 2018). The attraction is the very picturesque town, just a short walk away.

Longuich, Feiten Weine Edelbrande

N49 48’ 7” E6 46’ 49”

Stellplatz on banks of Moselle. Well laid out, shower, toilet, EHU, services. Cycletrack alongside. We have cycled to Trier from here (and tried our hand on a Tandem, but, not on the same day!)

Minheim

N49 51’ 54” E6 56’ 28”

Neumagen-DhronMarina Mittelmosel

N49.85257, E6.8927

Right on the banks of the River Moselle, clean, tidy, well organised, clean and working Showers/Toilets, Motorhome service point. It also has a pleasant village, within walking distance, and, the Moselle Cycle Route runs past the Marina. At 17Euro/day including EHU, it is perhaps a trifle expensive for a Stellplatz.

OberWesel Stellplatz

N50.10828, E7.72729

On banks of the Rhine, so, potentially a "good spot", but, much of the space taken up with parked cars. Adjacent to a busy road. Public toilets nearby (perfectly serviceable, this is Germany!), but, no other Services. 8Euro/24hours. Cycle route passes. On balance, would only use if desperate.

Stocach

N47°50'31", E8°59'44"

There is a Campsite, and Stellplatz, both attached to a large Motorhome/Caravan dealers premises. You have the choice, you can stay on the ASCI registered campsite and pay 16Euro/night, plus tourist tax, or, you can stay on the Stelplatz, and pay 10Euro per night, including electricity and use of the (excellent) campsite facilities, including washing machines and dryers.

Eberbach, Camping Eberbach

N49 27'38" E8 58'57"

Approximately 20 miles up river from Heidleburh, Camping Eberbach, is alongside the river, on the opposite bank to most of the town of Eberbach. It is an ACSI Site, 18Euro/night. As you would expect , in Germany, everything is clean, and works. Very pleasant location, and town.

Visited: 2019

Eschwege, Knaus Campingpark

N51 11’ 29” E10 10’ 7”

An ASCI site. 16 Euro. All facilities very good. Short walk into town.

Visited: 2013

Freiberg, Camping Hirzberg

This site is within an LEZ Zone. An ACSI Site. The site is typically German, ie spotlessly clean and very well organised. Even the rubbish bins are neatly organised and spotlessly clean!

Geisenheim, Campingplatz Rheingau

Alongside the Rhine. Beautiful town. Well organised ACSI campsite. Excellent cycling. Revisited 2019. No longer an ACSI Site, but, still, very good. However, EHU now charged separately, total 30Euro/night in September, bit pricey IMHO.

Geisenheim, Am Campingplatz 1

N49 58' 45" E7 57' 27"

Alongside the Rhine. Beautiful town. Well organised ACSI campsite. Excellent cycling.

Campingplatz Loreleyblick

N50 8'37" E7 43'20"

Right on the banks of the Rhine. A fairly large site, with "facilities" at the Reception building, and, individual Toilet, washbasin, shower "huts" dotted about the site. All very well done. Cycle Route from Entrance. Spoilt by very noisy Railway.

Lahnstein - Wolfsmuhle

N50.31453, E7.62802

Beautiful, even grounds with heated toilet facilities and restaurant. Excellent cycling opportunities. Koblenz within cycling distance.

Visited: 2010, 2019

Mannheim, Camping Strandbad

N49.450137, E8.445048

A site on the banks of the River Rhine, just out of Mannheim. It has mixed reviews, on SearchForSites, (one good one bad).So far, it appears to be a typical "city" campsite, ie, a bit rough at the edges, but, contrary to the (bad) review, the warden seems a perfectly likeable chap, to us. One point, entrance and approach road are quite narrow!, would not want to attempt to reverse, in the event of meeting an oncoming vehicle! 22.5Euro/night, inclusive of EHU, taxes, etc

Markelfingen , Camping Willam

N47.73031, E9.0259

An ACSI Site. The site is on the shore of the Bodensee (Lake Constance, to us), between Markelfingen and Allensbach, slightly nearer to Markelfingen , with a traffic free cycle track to both.

Visited: 2011

Oberwesel, Camping Schonburgblick

N50 06'08" E07 44'11"

An ACSI Site, on banks of the Rhine. Good views. Units close packed. Slightly frayed. Short walk to town and supermarkets (LIDL, REWE). Cycle Route from Entrance.

Rottenbuch/Ammer Terrassen-Camping am Richterbichi

N47.727489, E10.966845

An ACSI Site. Usual well organised German site, everything tidy and spotlessly clean, plus free wifi.

Visited: 2010

Schweich, Zum Fahrturm

N49°48'52", E6°45'01

An ACSI Site. The site is by the river, and we have a riverside pitch, so interesting views, but not the best site we have had in Germany. The site is on the river bank, alongside a watersports facility. A bit "tired" when we visited. we moved on to Longuich, Feiten Weine Edelbrande

Visited: 2010

Sonnen/Erpfingen, Azur Rosencamp

N48 21’47” E9 11’0”

An ACSI Site. Not one of our better choices.

Visited: 2012

Weikershiem/Laudenbach, Schwabenmuhle
